Things to do in and around the Drakensberg these summer holidays!

Spring is now in full bloom, and here in the Underberg, we are welcoming the warmer weather and the longer days spent enjoying the great outdoors. Summer is fast approaching, as are the December holidays, and if you haven't planned an end of year getaway yet, then now is the time to do it. The beautiful Drakensberg Mountains and the wild Underberg surrounds are the perfect place to escape with your family this summer. Offering lots of activities for the kids and those young at heart, there will never be a dull moment!

Here are just some things you can do in the Drakensberg this summer:

Fishing

Umzimkulu River Lodge is one of the best places in South Africa for fishing enthusiasts! The trout fishing season opened at the beginning of September and will until the end of May. Grab your rods and park yourself anywhere along our 2.5km of river frontage and start reeling in the wild rainbow and brown trout. Want to teach the kids how to fish? Our small bass dam and a trout dam on the neighbouring property provide endless hours of fun for all ages!
